SheKnows Media to Moderate an Online GOP Congresswomen Town Hall on March 2 to Address National Security, Economic Growth and Health Care Issues

Participants Include House Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA), Representative Mimi Walters (R-CA) and Representative Kristi Noem (R-SD)

Town Hall will be Livestreamed Exclusively on SheKnows.com and BlogHer.com

New York, NY and Washington, D.C. – March 2, 2016 – SheKnows Media, a leading women’s media company with 91 million unique visitors per month1 and a total reach of 269 million social media fans, announced that it will moderate an online Town Hall between three GOP congresswomen today, March 2, at 10:30 a.m. ET to address the Republican Party’s 2016 and 2017 priorities.

House Republican Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA), Representative Mimi Walters (R-CA) and Representative Kristi Noem (R-SD) will participate in the Town Hall, moderated by SheKnows Media Executive Editorial Director Julie Ross Godar. Top-line issues to be addressed during the conversation include national security, jobs and economic growth, poverty and the protection of the nation’s constitutional liberties.

Questions asked of the SheKnows Media audience that were fielded February 26-29 online will be asked of the congresswomen during the live Town Hall, which will be livestreamed here exclusively on SheKnows.com and BlogHer.com.

“Our vast, predominantly female audience is passionate about so many issues that are shaping the 2016 election,” Ross Godar said. “Based on findings from SheKnows Media’s new study called #TheFWord, we know that border control to Affordable Care Act to same-sex marriage to equal pay by law are top of mind for women regardless of party affiliation. I am looking forward to moderating this Town Hall with three GOP powerhouses who will share their perspective on these issues, what the Republican Party is doing to resolve them, as well as shed light on what it’s like to be a female legislator.”

Recently, SheKnows Media completed a proprietary, third-party validated study that took the pulse on how women of all ages and ethnicities in the United States identify with today’s feminist movement, and how that impacts their views on a variety of issues, including the 2016 presidential election and hot-button issues like equal pay and immigration. The full set of findings from #TheFWord survey will soon be released in honor of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day on March 8.

“Women’s History Month is our opportunity to celebrate the incredible accomplishments of women throughout our history, and to recognize those who gave voice to a voiceless gender and inspired many generations,” said House Republican Chair McMorris Rodgers. “For moms and teachers, doctors and entrepreneurs across America, we care about achieving a better life for our children’s generation. I can’t wait to talk to those who tune into the March 2 livestream about their ideas for our future, where every American — especially women — feel empowered to build a bright future.”

Congresswoman Kristi Noem added, “The most lasting tribute we can pay this month is through our effort to make history for the next generation of women. We must remain focused on building a strong foundation on which future trailblazers can pursue their own dreams and keep making history. As House Republicans build an agenda to restore a confident America, I look forward to discussing solutions for the priorities women care about.”

“This month, we celebrate the accomplishments of women throughout our history and seize the opportunity to keep making history for future generations,” said Congresswoman Mimi Walters. “With women starting businesses at an ever increasing rate, and graduating with bachelors, masters, and doctorate degrees at a higher rate than their peers — it’s the determination and innovation of women today that’s going to be the foundation of a more confident America. I am excited to hear ideas about how we can open more opportunities for all Americans.”
